Research and activities
1. Part of scientific activities deals with filling of a generation gap of taxonomists by the passing of knowledge of taxonomy of over 5000 species of Salticidae (Araneae) to the next generations of zoologists. The form is an Internet relational database, compendium and catalog: „A monograph of Salticidae (Araneae) of the World”, containing at present 12,061 diagnostic drawings, 1,097 photographs, literature references (to over 1,800 papers), synonyms, geographical distribution, and also evaluation of reliability of data. The “Monograph” is also available in the form of an Internet book in pdf format (3,668 pages). It is considered a primary reference by the Peckham Society.
An extraction from the “Monograph” facilitating studies of fauna of some countries is presented as „Salticidae (Araneae) of selected countries - checklists, keys to genera and diagnostic drawings”, with texts in English, and in some national languages.
2. Another part of activities involves current publication of taxonomic papers on Salticidae (taxonomic revisions, redescriptions and descriptions of new species), mainly from SE Asia.
